Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
1. Introduction
VisualEssential (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign up via Google or other OAuth providers, we receive your name and email from that provider.
Uploaded Content
We collect photos and audio files you upload to generate video clips. These are processed through our AI pipeline and stored temporarily to deliver the Service.
Payment Information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full card details. Stripe may share your name, email, and billing address with us for account management.
Usage Data
We collect basic usage data including pages visited, clips generated, features used, and device/browser information. This helps us improve the Service.
Email Subscriptions
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address to send product updates and new feature announcements.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the Service (generating video clips from your content)
- To process payments and manage your subscription
- To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password resets, receipts)
- To send marketing emails if you opted in (you can unsubscribe anytime)
- To improve the Service and fix bugs
- To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse
4. AI Processing
Your photos and audio are sent to third-party AI services (Google Gemini, Kling AI) for processing. These services process your content solely to generate your video clip. We do not use your content to train AI models. Generated clips are stored in our cloud infrastructure (Supabase/Vercel) and accessible only to you.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers, each acting on our behalf to deliver or improve the Service:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Supabase — database, authentication, and storage
- Vercel — web hosting and serverless function execution
- Google (Gemini API) — AI image generation
- Kling AI — AI video generation
- PiAPI — intermediate image hosting for the Kling pipeline
- Resend — transactional and marketing email delivery
- Inngest — background job orchestration (sees user IDs and email addresses)
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel — ad measurement and conversion tracking on key actions (see Cookies, below)
All service providers are bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.
6. Data Retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. Uploaded photos are processed and may be cached temporarily (up to 30 days) for retry/debugging, then deleted. Generated video clips are retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your data within 30 days.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure API keys, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your generated clips
- Opt out of marketing emails
To exercise these rights, email us at support@visualessential.com.
9. Cookies and Tracking
Essential cookies. We use essential cookies and similar storage (including local storage and IndexedDB on your device) for authentication, session management, and to preserve your in-progress draft across sign-in.
Meta (Facebook) Pixel. We load the Meta Pixel on our marketing and product pages to measure ad campaign performance and to record conversion events when you take key actions such as creating an account or initiating checkout. The Pixel sets first- and third-party cookies controlled by Meta and shares hashed identifiers and event metadata with Meta. We do not send Meta the contents of your uploaded photos, audio, or generated clips.
Your choices. You can opt out of Meta-side tracking via Meta’s Ad Preferences, your browser’s tracking-protection settings, or browser-level tools such as the Privacy Badger extension. Blocking the Pixel will not affect your ability to use the Service.
We do not use other third-party advertising or analytics cookies (e.g., Google Analytics, TikTok Pixel) at this time. If we add additional trackers, we will update this section before deploying them.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
